Alex Busby Recital

The University of Mary-Hardin Baylor’s College of Visual and Performing Arts presents flutist Alexander Busby in recital on Sunday, October 15th, 2017, at 3:00 p.m. in Fikes Chamber Hall located in the Sue and Frank Mayborn Performing Arts Center on the UMHB campus. The recital is free and open to the public.

Alexander Busby is a senior Music Education major at UMHB. Born and raised in the nearby town of Temple, TX, Alexander was a student in the UMHB Conservatory of Music growing up, ultimately choosing to attend UMHB after his high school graduation in 2014. Throughout his time at UMHB he has performed with many university ensembles including but not limited to the UMHB Wind Ensemble-where he is currently serving as student conductor, UMHB Jazz Ensemble-Including their national tour to China in 2015, and the UMHB woodwind quintet. Alexander and his wife Sarah currently reside in Temple, TX, where he has and maintains a private music studio.

Mrs. Nelda Milligan, esteemed accompanist for Opera Cru/Musical Theatre and the Music Department, will be joining Alexander in recital. Also joining Alexander will be his wife Sarah Busby on flute. Alexander is a flute student of Adjunct Professor of Flute, Sheryl Goodnight.

The recital will feature the music of Johann Sebastian Bach, Claude Debussy, Edgard Varèse, Philippe Gaubert, and Sergei Prokofiev.
