Dr. Brandon Skaggs serves as Vice President for Student Life at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (UMHB), where he leads the university’s efforts to support, engage, and develop students through all aspects of campus life. He assumed this role in January 2017 after serving as UMHB’s Director of Alumni Relations.

A 2003 graduate of UMHB, Dr. Skaggs earned a double major in Business Management and Computer Information Systems. He later completed an MBA in Finance and Management from Tarleton State University and earned his Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Higher Education Leadership from Dallas Baptist University.

With more than 15 years of experience in Christian higher education, Dr. Skaggs has served in a variety of leadership roles. At Dallas Baptist University, he held several positions including Director of Admissions and Recruitment, International Recruiter, Graduate Advisor, and Assistant to the Vice President and Dean of the Gary Cook Graduate School of Leadership. In 2011, he joined Oklahoma Baptist University as Associate Vice President for Student Development & Dean of Students, where he provided strategic leadership in student life, residence life, student conduct, and spiritual life.

Dr. Skaggs is deeply committed to fostering holistic student development, Christ-centered leadership, and vibrant campus culture. He is also passionate about mentoring young leaders and strengthening community engagement through faith-based service.

Brandon and Sara have four children—Sydney, Brady, Bennet, and Beau—and are actively involved in their community. Dr. Skaggs serves as an elder at First Baptist Church of Belton, where he is dedicated to spiritual leadership and discipleship.
