Dr. Daniel Cancino, Jr. has over 20 years of experience in faith based nonprofit leadership. He has served as a leader in his local church and established a career serving in nonprofit faith based management. Service and passion include assisting organizations manage and accomplish mission focus through a lens of accountability and stewardship. This includes a keen awareness and practice of strategic planning, fiduciary responsibility, and personnel development to ensure organization health, climate, and culture.
He currently serves as an Executive Pastor, Administration at First Baptist Church of San Antonio where he reports to the Senior Pastor and helps to offer guidance and direction to the Church through the business office. His responsibilities include managing the church budget, facilities, information technology, and human resources. His experience includes Director of Management Services for the Salvation Army of North Texas, a nonprofit organization based in North Texas and more significantly part of the larger global ministry. Additionally, he served as the Deputy Director of the Faith and Education Coalition for the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference serving over 40,000 churches across the U.S. by encouraging students to "love the Lord with all your mind" Luke 10:27. Prior to his current role, he served as the CFO for a Baptist University of the Americas in San Antonio, TX.
He completed PhD work at Regent University and concentrated in organizational leadership. His specific area of interest is organization leadership and the effect it has on members’ work-family balance.
Danny is married to Ledy Cancino, and they have three children: Annelyse, Ellasyn, and Trey.
