Chapel - Carol Holcomb
Carol Crawford Holcomb has been a Professor of Christian Studies at UMHB for 21 years. She grew up in north central Louisiana, earned a B.A. in history from Louisiana Tech University, an MDiv from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and a Ph.D. from Baylor University. Dr. Holcomb teaches Engaging the Old Testament, Baptist History, Women in American Christianity and other church history classes. Her most recent publication, Home Without Walls: Southern Baptist Women and Social Reform in the Progressive Era, was published by the University of Alabama Press in 2020. She is married to Dr. David Holcomb, a professor of history and political science at UMHB, and they have three boys. Ben is a graduate student at Georgia State. Andrew is a sophomore at Belmont University and Daniel is a junior at Belton High School. The Holcombs are members of Meadow Oaks Baptist Church in Temple, Texas. Fun Fact: Dr. Holcomb served on staff with Centrifuge youth camps in Alaska, Taiwan, Korea, Japan, Hawaii (twice!), California, Alabama and Mississippi. One of those summers she taught backpacking!
