Rodney Howell Recital
The College of Visual and Performing Arts at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor presents saxophonist Rodney Howell, Jr. in recital on Sunday, November 19, at 7:00 p.m. in the Fikes Chamber Hall of the Sue and Frank Mayborn Performing Arts Center on the UMHB campus. The recital is free and open to the public.
Mr. Howell will be accompanied by Nelda Milligan on piano for the classical part of the program. He will be accompanied by Jake Armstrong (guitar), Blaine Smith (bass), and James Equeles (drums) for the jazz set of the recital.
From Killeen, TX, Howell is a senior Music Education major at UMHB. He has been a member of the Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, Saxophone Choir, and was the 2017 Presser Foundation Award Winner.
The recital will feature the music of Reed, Piazzolla, Waignein, Eccles, Garner, Davis, Coltrane, and Guglielmi.
